FAQ regarding user registration
Q: Where can I receive my sanitation license?
A: Please call the University of Illinois Extension at 815-235-4125 or visit their website https://web.extension.illinois.edu/jsw/ for information on upcoming classes in the area. Extension Educators offer a two day course which includes manual, 9 hours of training and testing.
Q: I have an Illinois food handler’s card – is that sufficient?
A: No. In accordance with state and local regulations, users are required to obtain a CFPM license. However, if a user wishes to bring in additional employees, those employees are only required to have a food handler’s card – they are not required to have a CFPM license.
Q: How do I find out what certification I need from the health department?
A: Refer to the Classification of Establishments to determine which classification best suits your needs. If you have further questions, contact the Stephenson County Health Department at 815-599-0344.
